Terms and Conditions

Raceday Ticketing

  • Raceday Tickets are sold subject to the following terms & conditions:

    • No refund or exchange on any ticket except as set out in condition 3.

    • The Tweed River Jockey Club, in consultation with Racing NSW, reserves the right to cancel, reschedule and/or vary advertised race meetings and races at any time.

    • Tickets may not be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including via on-line auction sites) or, without the written permission of the Tweed River Jockey Club, used for commercial, advertising or promotional purposes in connection with other goods or services. Breach of this condition may result in cancellation of the ticket and refusal of entry to the ticket holder.

Function & Event Ticketing

  • Function & Event Tickets are sold subject to the following terms & conditions:​

    • No refund or exchange on any ticket except as set out in condition 3.

    • The Tweed River Jockey Club reserves the right to cancel, reschedule and/or vary advertised functions & events at any time.

    • Tickets may not be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including via on-line auction sites) or, without the written permission of the Tweed River Jockey Club, used for commercial, advertising or promotional purposes in connection with other goods or services. Breach of this condition may result in cancellation of the ticket and refusal of entry to the ticket holder.

​Refunds Policy

  • In the event of a scheduled race meeting being cancelled due to inclement weather after 11.00am on the scheduled raceday, a phantom meeting will be held and the Tweed River Jockey Club will meet its commitments in relation to pre booked food and beverage packages conditions apply
  • No refunds will be given in relation to food and beverage packages if the meeting is cancelled after 11.00am on the scheduled raceday.

  • If the scheduled race meeting is cancelled before 11.00am on the scheduled raceday, full refunds will be given and the meeting will be deemed abandoned OR the Tweed River Jockey Club reserves the right to hold a phantom meeting if deemed viable to do so.

  • If an event is cancelled or rescheduled prior to commencement of the event, ticket holders may request to exchange tickets for an equivalent event by contacting the Tweed River Jockey Club within two business days of the cancelled or rescheduled event and the Tweed River Jockey Club will, if possible, provide the exchange tickets (but does not guarantee that it will be able to do so). An equivalent event means the same event later or another event to the equal ticket value. If the customer does not request an exchange of tickets, a refund will be provided in full within ten (10) business days.

Payment Policy

  • All prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST.

  • Payment is required with all online bookings through our website. If you do not feel comfortable paying online, please contact the Club on 0408 627 573

  • The Tweed River Jockey Club does not store credit card details.

 

Raceday Food & Beverage Policy

  • This policy does not apply to Events held at the Tweed River Jockey Club.

  • The Tweed River Jockey Club reserves the right to deny patrons to bring external or commercial food or beverages into the Venue. The Club will use its discretion in relation to food & beverages that are for specific dietary or health purposes.

  • Food will be available for purchase on course. Our Executive Chef can cater for most dietary & health needs.​

  • The Tweed River Jockey Club does not permitted the following items from entering the venue:

    • Perishable or processed foods intended for consumption

    • ‘Commercial or take-away food’ such as McDonalds or Dominos

    • NO BYO Alcohol in accordance with the Venue’s Licencing Agreement with the NSW Police.

    • NO BYO Soft Drinks. Complimentary water is available at all bars.

    • NO Glass

    • NO Metal Cutlery, Knifes or any other sort of objects

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy

    • The Tweed River Jockey Club practices the Responsible Service of Alcohol in accordance with our Alcohol Management Plan arranged in consultation with the Licencing Department of the New South Wales Police.

  • The Tweed River Jockey Club is committed to following the general principles of Responsible Service of Alcohol which include, but is not limited to:

    • Recognises that it is against the law to serve anyone to intoxication.

    • Recognises that it is against the law to serve anyone under the age of 18.

    • Recognises that it is against the law to allow disruptive or violent behaviour to occur on these premises.

    • Is an active member of the Tweed Coast Liquor Accord and is committed to abiding by its policies and procedures.

    • Acknowledges the right of every individual to an enjoyable social day out, without impacting on others to do the same.

  • The Tweed River Jockey Club has adopted the following house policy.

    • Patrons who are intoxicated will be refused admission to our premises.

    • We will display all Responsible Service of Alcohol Signs and Licencing Signs in accordance with legislation requirements

    • Any patron will be denied service if they are deemed to be intoxicated by TRJC Staff or RSA Marshalls.

    • Rapid or excessive drinking is not encouraged through pricing and beverage purchasing limits in accordance with the Alcohol Management Plan.

    • Low and non-alcoholic beverage are available for sale at all bars throughout the Venue.

    • High-risk groups are not encouraged to enter the Venue.

    • Complimentary water will be available at every Bar within the Venue.

    • The Tweed River Jockey Club accepts all identification allowed under Legislative Requirements.

    • Patrons suspected to be under 25 will have their identification checked upon entry and given a wristband signifying that they are of drinking age whilst in the Venue.

    • Anyone under the age of 18 will not be permitted to stand or be served at any Bar.

  • All TRJC Staff, Security & RSA Marshalls have been trained and informed of their responsibilities in accordance with this Policy, the TRJC’s Alcohol Management Plan and all other applicable policies.

 

Condition of Entry to Venue

  • All Patrons will be required to follow all Policies within these Terms & Conditions when entering the Murwillumbah Racecourse which is under the control & management of the Tweed River Jockey Club.

  • The TRJC reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove from the Venue that:

    • Is an unauthorised person

    • Any person who in the opinion of Staff is behaving, or is in a group behaving in a manner, that is causing nuisance or offence to other patrons within the Venue, damage to property of the TRJC or patrons, or causes disruption to the conduct of horse racing.

    • Any person that breaches these Terms & Conditions or refuses to follow the direction of a Tweed River Jockey Club representative, staff member, security contractor or RSA Marshall.

  • The TRJC has prohibited the follow items from entering the Venue:

    • Any illegal substance or alcohol

    • Any weapon, knife, blades, flare, firework or any other item that could cause disruption or injury

    • Animals other than assistance animals as defined in the Companion Animals Act 1998

    • Musical instrument that will potentially cause disruption to racing i.e. whistles

  • A Minor must not enter the Venue unless the minor is in company of an adult who is:

    • A parent, step-parent or guardian of the minor

    • The Minor’s spouse or de facto partner

    • Standing in as the parent of the minor

  • The Venue is monitored by a CCTV network for the safety and security of the patrons

  • No patrons can enter the racecourse at any time.

  • Smoking is prohibited in all areas except where prohibited by the Smoke-Free Environment Act 2000 and labelled ‘Smoking Area’.

  • The TRJC reserves the right to inspect and search bags, eskies or any other items that are being brought into the Venue by patrons.

Releases and Exclusion of Liability & Indemnity

  • Entrants bring their personal items into the Venue at their own risk. The Race Club will not be liable for any damage, loss or theft of an entrant’s personal property.

  • Entrants enter the Venue at their own risk and release the Race Club to the full extent allowed by law from all claims that the entrant might have, or might have had if not for this release, in respect of any injury, including injury resulting in death, arising from or occurring during their entry into or presence at the Venue.

  • Each entrant indemnifies the Race Club from and against all actions, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses which the Race Club is, or may be, or becomes liable for, arising from any damage to property, loss of life, or injury which may be sustained or suffered by any third party at the Venue, to the extent that the same is caused by an act or omission of the entrant.
