TAILLEVENT speared to one of his best wins when the Gold Coaster won today’s $28,000 TURSA Employment & Training Murwillumbah Newmarket Handicap (1200m).
Trained by Bruce Hill, to give the former Kiwi trainer a running double for the day, Taillevent blasted past his opposition for a stirring win over fellow Gold Coast gelding, Lucky Tom.
It was his fifth race win at his 40th start and took his prizemoney to just over $285,000.
Bruce Hill has trained the six-year-old gelding son of Haradasun “from day one”.
“Right from a young horse he’s been a nice horse,” Bruce Hill said.
“He’s won some nice races along the way too.”
Always “thereabouts” Taillevent has also run 14 placings.
“He’s always competitive,” Bruce Hill added.
“No super star but a nice horse. He has been disappointing at his last few runs at Doomben and run a different race each time but we just thing he doesn’t like Doomben.”
Mark Du Plessis, who rode First Crush to win this year’s Grafton Cup told Bruce Hill after partnering Taillevent “he’s not a Doomben horse”.
