I completed high school in Tweed Heads and then travelled around NSW Country with my employer. I relocated back to Tweed Heads in 1996 and consider myself a local.
Having many years of experience on various sporting committees I am passionate about improving the way businesses and organisations operate.
I am an active community member with an extensive background working within not for profit organisations.
Current volunteer commitments outside the Tweed River Jockey Club include
- Board Member – Country Rugby League, East Coast Region (Junior Rugby League Delegate)
- Board Member – Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League
- Representative Operations Manager – Country Rugby League, East Coast Region
- Treasurer – Cudgen Hornets Rugby league Football Club
I own and operate my own Mortgage Franchise Business under the corporate banner of the family-owned company, Loan Market. I opened this business almost 7 years ago after spending the previous 20 plus years working in the Financial Services Industry. I very much enjoy working with my clients to assist in achieving their goals, whether this is a new family home, a new business or even save some money on their existing mortgage commitments
Since joining the board of Tweed River Jockey Club I have learned a lot regarding the racing industry and how a Jockey Club operates. What I have learned over the years is that to have a successful business you need to have strong clientele, strong management practices and sustainability. The Tweed River Jockey Club has all of this together with the support of the local community.
I would like to now see the Jockey Club improve its position within Country Racing of NSW by attracting a much wider audience in their membership and race day attendance. We can achieve significant growth in our business operations which will then allow the Jockey Club to improve the current facilities allowing for future growth year on year
I am certainly looking forward to the years ahead
